How to list a new service

Create a service your clients can book, set duration and pricing, choose in-person or virtual delivery, and assign the right staff members so availability appears correctly at checkout.

Create services quickly

Add a service with name, duration, price, and delivery mode in one flow.

Assign bookable staff

Choose which staff can perform the service so booking availability is accurate.

Publish safely

Keep services inactive while drafting, then activate when ready to sell.

Before you start

You need access to service management in your Beautay admin. If you do not have permission, ask an account owner or admin to grant it.

At least one active staff member should exist before publishing a new service, otherwise clients cannot book it with anyone.

Tip If you're still setting up your team, create staff profiles first, then return to Services so assignment is quick.

Open the Services page

  1. Sign in at accounts.beautay.co.uk.
  2. Open your business in admin.
  3. Go to the Services area and click Add service (or equivalent create button in your view).

Create the service details

Fill in the base details first. These define what appears to clients when booking.

  • Service name (for example: Anti-wrinkle consultation).
  • Description (optional but recommended for clarity and conversion).
  • Duration in minutes.
  • Buffer time if your workflow needs setup or cleanup between clients.

In most clinics, it is best to start with a simple baseline service and improve it over time instead of waiting for perfect settings.

Set pricing and payment policy

Enter your total service price in GBP. Then choose how customers are charged at booking.

OptionWhat it means
Total priceFull service value shown to clients.
Payment policyChoose full payment or deposit at booking.
Deposit amountOnly used if deposit policy is selected; cannot exceed total price.

If you plan to vary price based on time, provider, or conditions, use this as your base setup and then layer advanced pricing rules later.

Assign staff members to the service

This step controls who can be booked for this specific service.

  1. Find the staff assignment section in the service form.
  2. Tick each active staff member who can deliver this service.
  3. Save your selections before leaving the page.
Important A service must have at least one assigned staff member to be bookable. If no staff are assigned, clients will not see real availability for that service.

Save and publish

After saving, verify the service appears in your service list with correct duration, price, and assigned staff count.

  • Use active status when ready to accept bookings.
  • Use inactive status if you want to finish setup later.
  • For virtual services, set delivery mode to Virtual and then connect Zoom in Zoom integration.

Edit, archive, or reactivate later

You can return to Services at any time to change pricing, duration, staff assignments, and status.

  • Edit for normal updates.
  • Set inactive to temporarily remove from new bookings without deleting history.
  • Reactivate when you are ready to offer it again.

Troubleshooting

I cannot save the service

Check the required fields first: name, valid duration (minimum threshold), and valid price. Also confirm your payment/deposit values are valid.

No staff appear in the assignment section

You likely have no active staff profiles yet. Add staff in the team/staff area, then return to the service form and assign them.

The service is saved but not bookable

Verify that the service is active and at least one active staff member is assigned. If either is missing, booking availability will not show.

I'm blocked by a plan or permission error

Your account may not have service management permission, or your current plan limit for active services may have been reached. Ask an owner/admin to review role permissions and plan limits.

My pricing setup is more complex than this guide

Use this basic service as your foundation, then apply advanced service pricing rules in the dedicated dynamic pricing workflow once published.
